Leaves Wall Art

Budget-Friendly Redecorating

Although the economy may look pretty gloomy right now, your home doesn’t have to look like you are living on a tight budget. All you need is some canvas and a can of Krylon to help refresh and restyle an entire room! Start with Indoor/Outdoor Paint and chose from 70 on-trend colours.  Or, for maximum glamour, consider Brushed Metallics in six sumptuous, shimmering shades.  And, with a dry time of 10 minutes or less, you can decorate this afternoon and entertain tonight.

Walls are a good place to start, and just one dramatic piece of wall art can become your fresh, new focal point.  Stretched canvas is readily available in stores and online in sizes ranging from 8” x 10” to 24” x 30”, and it’s an ideal palette for your custom artwork.  Careful shopping will turn up large size canvases for under $10, so shop around.  At this low price, consider grouping several together.  Then, pick your colours – with more than 70 colours, you can mix and match to get just the look you want.  Go bold with a sophisticated palette of Black, Banner Red and White.  Or, stage a soft dreamy escape with Gum Drop, Totally Tangerine and Ivy Leaf.

Your spray paint style is up to you.  For easy drama, simply spray each canvas a solid colour, let dry, and arrange on a wall.  Or, take it to the next step and use painter’s tape to mask off vivid stripes, checks, and other geometric designs on your painted canvas.  Or, use stencils to help create your look.  Purchase stencils at your local craft or hardware store, or, create your own with a craft knife and a plastic sheet.  Spray the stencil with Krylon Easy-Tack™ Repositionable Adhesive to keep it in place while you paint.

Next, carry your new style throughout the room.  Those outdated curtains? Indoor/Outdoor and Brushed Metallic paints can be safely used on fabrics.  Use the same colours as in the wall art, or select a contrasting or complementary colour scheme.  Mask off a border, or use stencils to create an all-over design.  Purchase a few plain throw pillows and spray paint these to coordinate, too.

Finally, Krylon offers dozens of paints and finishes that can refresh other accents around the house.  Chairs, tables, book cases, lamps, vases, and other decorative items can all be made new and updated with a can of paint.
